Tipoff Time, Broadcast Details Set For Tennessee Basketball’s Matchup Against Alabama

Tennessee basketball’s Saturday afternoon matchup against Alabama tips off at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN, a Tennessee spokesperson confirmed.

The SEC rivalry matchup tipoff time was not announced at the beginning of the season with the conference leaving it open as a flex opportunity. The rivalry game was either going to tip off at noon or 2 p.m. ET with either ESPN or ESPN2 broadcasting the game.

Tennessee’s matchup against the Crimson Tide is its second home game of the week. The Vols host Florida at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center on Tuesday night before hosting rival Alabama on Saturday afternoon.

Rick Barnes’ ninth Tennessee team enters the week 12-4 (2-1 SEC) coming off a 1-1 week on the road. The Vols fell in a tight game at Mississippi State before using a late game comeback to knock off Georgia in Athens on Saturday afternoon.

Alabama enters the week 11-5 (3-0 SEC) coming off a 2-0 week that saw them coast past South Carolina on Tuesday before earning a narrow victory at Mississippi State on Saturday night. The Crimson Tide face a struggling Missouri team at home on Tuesday night before traveling to Knoxville.

KenPom predicts Tennessee to earn an 82-79 victory over the Crimson Tide as the Vols look to stay unbeaten at home this season.
