Blackshear ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 341 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect ranks as the No. 47 receiver in the 2025 recruiting class and the No. 37 player in the state of Georgia.

Tennessee has a natural tie in with the blue-chip receiver. Blackshear played his high school junior season at Calvary Day School in Savannah— where Vols’ four-star quarterback signee Jake Merklinger played his prep football.
Blackshear is still early in his recruitment but took a visit to both Georgia and Tennessee this fall. The Savannah native came to Knoxville for the Vols’ late season loss against his home state Bulldogs. Blackshear returned to Georgia for a visit earlier this month while he has yet to visit Florida State.
Tennessee football currently has five commits in its 2025 recruiting class but none of those are from receivers. Four of those five commits are from the state of Georgia but all four are Atlanta natives. The Vols are pursuing a number of top recruits in the 2025 cycle including five-star quarterback George MacIntyre.
