Tennessee guard Dalton Knecht is the co-SEC Player of the Week after a dominant two-game performance on the road last week. Knecht split the weekly honor with Alabama point guard Mark Sears.

In two games, Knecht averaged 32 points on 58% shooting from the field and 53% shooting from three-point range. Knecht also averaged five rebounds, two assists and two steals in the two games.

Sears was also extremely productive in Alabama wins over South Carolina and Mississippi State. The senior guard averaged 26.5 points on 64% shooting from the field and 62% shooting from three-point range. He also averaged 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in the two wins.

Knecht entered the week on a cold streak and it looked like it was going to continue after he scored just two points in the first half at Mississippi State. But the 6-foot-6 wing returned to form in the second half as he scored 26 points in the narrow loss.

The Northern Colorado transfer used it as a springboard into the Georgia game where he was fantastic for all 40 minutes. Knecht’s 20 second half points were integral in Tennessee overcoming an 11-point deficit to earn the road victory.

It marks the second time this season that Knecht earned SEC Player of the Week honors, previously earning the honor after scoring 24 points in Tennessee’s early season win over Wisconsin.

Knecht is looking to continue his recent hot stretch when the Vols face Florida at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center on Tuesday night. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. ET with ESPN broadcasting the game.
