Nashville area quarterback George MacIntyre has been one of Tennessee football’s top recruiting targets in the 2025 recruiting cycle for a long time and the Vols may be closing in on landing the blue-chip targets.

MacIntyre is looking to make a decision on his football future early in the recruiting cycle and 247sports’ Steve Wiltfong placed a Crystal Ball prediction for Tennessee to land the highly touted quarterback on Wednesday night.

The Brentwood Academy standout ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 15 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-5, 182-pound prospect ranks as the No. 2 quarterback and top player in the state of Tennessee in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

MacIntyre’s recruitment has long been a Tennessee-Alabama battle with blue-chip quarterback taking six total visits to Alabama and five visits to Tennessee throughout his recruitment. The Vols were already trending in MacIntyre’s recruitment before Nick Saban retired earlier this week, but the change atop the Crimson Tide’s program certainly boosts Tennessee’s chances.

The five-star quarterback is the centerpiece of a strong instate class for Tennessee in the 2025 cycle that includes top 100 recruits Cameron Sparks and Tarrion Grant as well as blue-chip defensive lineman Ethan Utley and a number of other four-star recruits.

Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains five commitments and ranks No. 12 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
