Tennessee guard Jordan Gainey and assistant coach Gregg Polinsky met with the media on a rainy Tuesday morning in Knoxville to preview the Vols’ game against Mississippi State on Wednesday.
Mississippi State (11-3, 0-1 SEC) will host No. 5 Tennessee (11-3, 1-0 SEC) at 7:00 p.m. ET in Starkville on Wednesday night.
With a win over Ole Miss this past Saturday night, Tennessee is fully diving into SEC play with two road games coming up this week. The Vols will take on Mississippi State on Wednesday and Georgia in Athens on Saturday. While the opponents may mean more when it comes to overall wins and losses, Tennessee’s mentality isn’t changing from non-conference play.
“It’s the same mindset,” guard Jordan Gainey said comparing SEC vs non-SEC games. “Win games.”
