Tennessee football was already looking to add an offensive lineman in the transfer portal before offensive tackle Gerald Mincey entered the transfer portal earlier this week.

With Mincey in the portal, the Vols are in even greater need for offensive line help. One player they’re turning to is Kansas transfer Ar’maj Reed-Adams who visited Knoxville earlier this week.

The former Kansas starter shared photos from his Tennessee visit on his Instagram early Saturday morning.

Reed-Adams started 12 games for Kansas last season, earning a 61.7 PFF grade before entering the transfer portal on New Years Eve. For reference, Reed-Adams PFF grade would have ranked third amongst Tennessee offensive linemen last season coming in behind Javontez Spraggins and Jackson Lampley.

The DeSota, Texas native has two-years of eligibility remaining due to COVID-19 eligibility relief in 2020 and after suffering an injury and redshirting the 2021 season. Reed-Adams is a versatile offensive lineman who started nine games at left guard and three games at right tackle last season.

That versatility would be especially valuable to Tennessee who is looking to replace starting left guard Ollie Lane and starting right guard Gerald Mincey from last year’s team. Tennessee does return starting left tackle John Campbell Jr. and center Cooper Mays. Spraggins has yet to announce his intentions for next season but still has one year of eligibility remaining.

Reed-Adams has also taken a visit to Texas A&M since entering the transfer portal and it’s unclear whether he will take more visits before announcing his transfer destination.
