Kentucky vs. Florida Preview
Ever since knocking off North Carolina in mid-December, the Wildcats have found some life and have a great chance to start 2024 on the right foot. Kentucky beat Illinois State in its most recent game, and Antonio Reeves had himself a game. The starting guard led the team in points in convincing fashion with 27 and shot 66% from the field. A massive note in this game was just how drastic the 3-point percentage was, with Kentucky at 44% and Illinois State at an abysmal 23%.
The Wildcats are in a good position to take down the Gators, and keeping up a decent 3-point percentage is the key. Monitoring the turnovers and getting decent play from the bench will contribute to a win in favor of Kentucky.
Florida, in the last three games. has put up at least 95 points, an impressive accomplishment. A loss to a ranked Baylor team is the blemish that is cause for concern, and with Kentucky beating the top-10 Tar Heels, we start to see the difference in these two teams. This game will open up the SEC portion of the schedule for both teams and anything can happen.
The Gators have had high turnovers in the past few games, thanks in part to the fast-paced tempo of play. The big upside to this is how often Florida can catch you off guard. Florida has the pieces to pull off the upset, but Kentucky has to have an average day at best to do so.
