NFL star tight end George Kittle is certainly a man of his word.

Kittle, a four-time Pro Bowl tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, was at the University of Iowa from 2012 to 2016 and was a fifth-round draft pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. The former Hawkeye looked to have some fun with former Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning as the Vols took on Iowa in the 2024 Citrus Bowl this past Monday afternoon.

After Tennessee’s 35-point win over Iowa in Orlando, Kittle posted a picture to social media while wearing a bright orange Nike Tennessee shirt and a white Tennessee hat with the caption, “So happy right now,” while tagging Peyton Manning.

The Hall of Fame quarterback then reposted the picture to his own social media account with the caption, “Kittle is a man of his word #GoVols.”

Kittle then reposted it once again, this time admitting his true feelings about the Hawkeyes being shut out in Camping World Stadium.

“This is tough,” Kittle posted once more.

More from RTI: Tennessee Receiver Returning For Super Senior Season

Kittle finished his Iowa career with 48 receptions for 737 yards and 10 touchdowns, the last category all coming in his final two seasons.

Kittle and the 49ers clinched the NFL No. 1 seed this past Sunday with one week to go in the regular season before the playoffs. The former Iowa Hawkeye currently leads all tight ends in the NFL this season in receiving yards with 1,020 yards to go along with six touchdowns on 65 receptions.

Tennessee dominated Iowa by a score of 35-0 this past Monday night in Orlando to capture the Citrus Bowl trophy. Vols’ freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava started his first career game for Tennessee and ended with four total touchdowns, three of which were rushing scores. Iamaleava won the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl MVP award after the game for his performance.

Tennessee won the game and Peyton Manning won the bet.
