Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz met with the media one final time on a chilly – all things considered – Sunday morning in Orlando, Florida, at the Rosen Plaza Hotel.
Heupel and Ferentz had a quick photo opportunity with the Cheez-It Bowl trophy and championship title before making their way to the stage for a 30-minute joint press conference.

There weren’t too many in-game questions on Sunday morning as both coaches, along with assistant coaches and players, have already been speaking with the media on game topics throughout the week. Instead, the media was interested in the conversation revolving around the current state of college football with the transfer portal, NIL, opt-outs, tampering, and many more hot-button issues around the sport today.
There were some game questions, though, as Heupel spoke about Joe Milton being an important voice and an extra set of eyes for freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava on the sideline this Monday against the Hawkeyes.
Heupel: "Joe has done it the right way during the course of his career… Did a lot of really get things during the season."
Heupel says that Joe will "be another voice for Nico when he comes to the sidelines" during the bowl game.
