Holiday Bowl Preview
The Cardinals are going into this game without star players Jawhar Jordan (RB). Jamari Thrash (WR) and Kameron Wilson (DL), but are still spearheaded by quarterback Jack Plummer. Louisville has a massive advantage because USC QB with Caleb Williams has opted out.
Louisville running back Isaac Guerendo is in prime position to have a big game with Jordan out. The Trojans have a tough matchup, and Louisville being a 7-point favorite gives good insight that this will be an exciting Holiday Bowl.
With Williams out, USC coach Lincoln Riley looks toward Miller Moss in the starting role. In addition, Brenden Rice (WR), Marshawn Lloyd (RB), and Domani Jackson (CB) will be missing in action during Wednesday’s game.
USC has not been known as the defensive powerhouse in the Pac-12, and with Williams out, this game has a downcast feel for the Trojans. Having lost the regular season finale to UCLA really put things into perspective for USC. The biggest weakness against the Bruins was the lack of run game. The Trojans had an abysmal total of 3 rushing yards, but if USC can find success on the ground early, this team could give Louisville a fight to the end.
