Class of 2025 safety Faheem Delane released his top five including Tennessee football on Friday night. The Vols joined Alabama, LSU, Ohio State and Virginia Tech in Delane’s top group.

Delane ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 24 player in the 2025 recruiting class according to the 247sports composite rankings. An Olney, Maryland native, Delane ranks as the top safety in his class and the best player in the state of Maryland.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound safety is the younger brother of Virginia Tech defensive back Mansoor Delane. A rising junior, the older Delane brother is one of the best defensive backs in the ACC.

Despite his brother playing at Virginia Tech, Delane has visited Ohio State more than any other school. The Maryland native has taken five total visits to Ohio State including three in 2023. Ironically, Delane took four visits to Penn State in 2022 but none in 2023 as the Nittany Lions failed to make his top group.

Delane has taken two total visits to Virginia Tech, two visits to Alabama and one visit to LSU. The blue-chip prospect has yet to take a visit to Tennessee. If the Vols are going to become a serious player in his recruitment, they’ll have to change that over the next two months.

Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class contains four commits including a trio of three-star cornerbacks. All four of the Vols’ commits are from the Atlanta area.

The Vols’ four commit recruiting class ranks No. 12 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
