Kentucky vs. UNC Preview & More BetMGM Promos

The Wildcats are ranked No. 14 in the nation and while that’s impressive, the Tar Heels stand in the way as the next opponent, and they’re ranked No. 9. Kentucky has displayed impressive performances and has also fallen short of expectations. A win over a team like Miami gave the Wildcats something to believe in, but to immediately lose to unranked UNC-Wilmington took the wind out of their sails.

In addition to BetMGM’s welcome bonus offer of $1,500, the sportsbook has other offers and promotions that apply to all users. These offers will rotate out soon, so be sure to act fast and get in on the sports betting fun just in time for UNC vs. Kentucky this Saturday.

Diving Deeper on UK vs UNC

Coach Calipari has consensus five-star recruit Aaron Bradshaw playing 29 minute per game, and Bradshaw had a 17-point, 11-rebound performance against Pitt. Not to mention, starting guard  DJ Wagner is back from a lower extremity injury.

The Wildcats cleaned the glass with 41 total rebounds (13 offensive). This team also shot 49.3% from the field and kept the turnovers minimal with 10. If Kentucky can replicate a similar performance and capitalize on the big moments, Saturday’s game against North Carolina stands to be within reach for coach C and the Wildcats.

The Tar Heels are coming off a loss against the defending champ UConn Huskies, dropping UNC’s record to 7-2. Guard RJ Davis played an astounding 38 minutes and scored a team-high 26 points. North Carolina shot 44.4% from the field and 59.1% from the line.

The good things unfortunately stop there with the Tar Heels only making 35% from beyond the arc, and trailing UConn in rebounds, assists, and takeaways. UNC does have a bright future this season, Stanford transfer Harrison Ingram appears to have found a significant role in head coach Hubert Davis’ system. Forward Armando Bacot established himself with an impressive double-double performance, and Davis is emerging as arguably the best player on this roster.

Losing to the defending national champions is not something to overreact to. That North Carolina kept pace with UConn is noteworthy in and of itself. UNC will have to get that three point percentage up, and it can’t afford to get into foul trouble early. If the Tar Heels can keep those two things in check, this roster has the talent to outlast Kentucky.

Prediction: Tar Heels Conquer Wildcats in Early Season Classic

North Carolina has the roster to beat Kentucky, and with the motivation after losing to the Huskies, this one should be entertaining. UNC had an uncharacteristically bad three-point shooting performance last week, which is an easy enough fix. When comparing the players by position, the edge is in favor of the Tar Heels.
