Four-star class of 2025 prospect EJ Walker is visiting Tennessee for its rivalry showdown with Alabama next month, Stockriser’s Jake Weingarten first reported and a source confirmed to RTI on Wednesday.
Walker is a low four-star recruit and ranks as the No. 129 player in the class of 2025 according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-8, 220-pound prospect ranks as the No. 26 power forward and the No. 2 player in the state of Kentucky in his recruiting class.
The blue-chip recruit’s January visit to Tennessee will be his first trip to Knoxville during his recruitment but not his first overall recruiting trip.

Walker’s taken two visits to both Purdue and Minnesota in addition to visits to Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan State and West Virginia.
The power forward is an Erlanger, Kentucky native— a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. That, in part, explains why Walker’s recruitment has predominantly featured Big 10 schools as Tennessee is looking to become the first major SEC power to become a factor for the power forward.
Tennessee doesn’t have a commit in its 2025 recruiting class but it is still very early in the recruiting cycle. The Vols hosted a number of blue-chip class of 2025 recruits on campus this fall including five-star Caleb Wilson and four-stars Aleks Alston, Jeremiah Fears, Tylis Jordan and Jermaine O’Neal Jr.
