Tennessee assistant coach Gregg Polinsky met with the media on Monday afternoon ahead of the Vols’ clash with Georgia Southern on Tuesday night in the Food City Center.
Polinsky served as the head coach of Georgia Southern from 1995 to 1999 before moving on to the NBA as a scout and director of player personnel from 1999 to 2021. Polinsky then joined the Tennessee staff as a volunteer analyst in 2021 before being promoted to assistant coach in 2022.
Tennessee returned to Rocky Top this past weekend and defeated Illinois in a strong Top 25 clash. The Volunteers will look to continue that momentum against a struggling Georgia Southern team at 7:00 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
Polinsky spoke about key players such as Zakai Zeigler and Josiah-Jordan James while also briefly talking about his time at Georgia Southern and how that led to him winding up at Tennessee with Rick Barnes.
