Five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton committed to Colorado football on Thursday morning over a top group which included Alabama, Florida, Maryland, Ohio State, Oregon and Tennessee

Missing out on Seaton is a massive recruiting loss for Josh Heupel and his staff as they beat out SEC rivals as they were serious players for the highest rated uncommitted player in the country.

Seaton ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 15 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-5, 287-pound prospect ranks as the top prep offensive tackle in the country.

The five-star offensive tackle is a Baltimore, Maryland native but played his high school senior season at IMG Academy in Florida. Seaton ranks as the No. 4 player in the state of Florida and would rank as the No. 1 player in the state of Maryland.

Tennessee emerged somewhat late in Seaton’s recruitment to become very serious players. The five-star hadn’t visited Tennessee until earlier this fall but after an unofficial visit for the South Carolina game and an official visit for the Georgia game, the Vols became a very serious player.

Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class currently contains 20 commitments and five offensive linemen commits. It’s unclear which of the Vols’ offensive line commits will play offensive tackle compared to interior offensive line. Four-star Bennett Warren and three-star Jesse Perry are definitively offensive tackles while Gage Ginther and Max Anderson could play either spot.

The Vols’ 20-commit recruiting class ranks No. 13 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
