After weeks of speculation and changing dynamics, it’s finally bowl announcement day. Tennessee football is likely headed to the Sunshine State but what bowl game is still to be determined.
The Vols are the sixth highest SEC team in any bowl pecking order. Alabama, Georgia and Missouri are poised for the College Football Playoff or New Years Six bowls while Ole Miss is staring down a Citrus Bowl berth. LSU is also ahead of Tennessee in the bowl pecking order but politicking also comes into affect.
With Jayden Daniels poised to opt out of the bowl game, Tennessee becomes nearly as attractive an option as the Tigers. The Gator Bowl still seems to be the most likely destination for Tennessee but it doesn’t seem quite as definitive as it did earlier this week.
We’ll figure out where Tennessee lands later this afternoon. But before that, let’s take a look at the Vols’ bowl projections.
