Nine TSSAA football championship games will take place in Chattanooga over the next three days with Thursday night’s Division II-AAA title between Baylor and McCallie proving to be the main event.
There will be SEC level talent all over the Finley Stadium field including Tennessee commit Carson Gentle, Alabama commit Amari Jefferson and Ohio State commit Max LeBlanc.
With that many big time prospects on the field, the SEC coaches are showing up. Alabama’s Nick Saban, Georgia’s Kirby Smart, Mississippi State’s Jeff Lebby, Ole Miss’ Lane Kiffin and Tennessee’s Josh Heupel are all expected to attend the game according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press’ Stephen Hargis reported.
A few of the college coaches expected to be at Thursday’s Baylor/McCallie D-II AAA title game: UT’s Heupel, UGA’s Smart, Bama’s Saban, Ole Miss’ Kiffin, Miss State’s Lebby, and of course UGA assistant Will Muschamp (whose son Whit is Baylor’s QB). 11 total players with D1 offers

Baylor and McCallie have five combined seniors committed to play at power five schools and another with a myriad of power five offers who has yet to commit.
There’s even more SEC level talent on the field including high four-star Baylor standout Cameron Sparks. Sparks is one of Tennessee’s top recruiting targets in the 2025 class and one player Heupel will likely have a watchful eye on.

Baylor and McCallie have perhaps been the two best high school teams in any classification in the state of Tennessee this season. McCallie enters the matchup 11-1 while Baylor enters it 10-2. McCallie defeated its cross town rival 34-31 in a thrilling regular season matchup.
Kickoff between Baylor and McCallie is at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday night in Chattanooga.
