No. 21 Tennessee soundly defeated in-state rival Vanderbilt by a score of 48-24 on Saturday afternoon in Knoxville to cap off the 2023 regular season.

Quarterback Joe Milton found his best performance of the season against the Commodores on Saturday as the senior racked up six total touchdowns and 383 passing yards on the day. Milton had two long touchdowns on Saturday with a 34-yard pass going to Jacob Warren and a 46-yard ball going to Ramel Keyton.

Tennessee’s defense found new life on Saturday holding Vanderbilt to just 10 points through the first three quarters of play. The improvement was big for Tennessee after the way the previous two games against Missouri and Georgia went.

After the game, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with the media to talk about his reactions to the game. Heupel spoke about the first-half scuffle between the teams, Joe Milton’s performance, Jaylen Wright’s historic game, the current state of the Tennessee program, and much more.

In addition to Heupel, Tennessee also had six players speak with the media on Saturday: QB Joe Milton III, TE McCallan Castles, TE Jacob Warren, LB Aaron Beasley, WR Ramel Keyton, and DB Will Brooks.
