Prediction
After battling with Zach Edey and No. 2 Purdue, Tennessee turns around and faces No. 1 Kansas and Hunter Dickinson less than 24 hours later. It’s a familiar foe for Tennessee. This is the Vols’ fifth matchup in six years against Kansas while Dickinson shined as Michigan defeated Tennessee in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
Dickinson will be a major challenge for Tennessee though in a different way than Edey was. If the Vols can limit the All-American big man I think they’ll have enough answers for the Jayhawks’ offense.
My two questions for Tennessee. First, what does the offense look like? They’ve struggled in each of the first two games in Maui and particularly against Purdue. Secondly, is there any lingering affects from Wednesday’s game? Not only was that an emotional loss but it was an incredibly physical and taxing on. Tennessee played with hig intensity for 40 minutes.
Still, Kansas has even less time off between games. I think this is a solid matchup for Tennessee and they’ll get it done.
