Tennessee basketball stayed put at No. 7 in this week’s AP Poll ahead of this week’s Maui Invitational in Honolulu.
The Vols are coming off a 1-0 week that saw them defeat Wofford 82-61 at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center on Tuesday night. Tennessee failed to open up a massive lead in the first half before extending things early in the second half.
Dalton Knecht led the Vols in scoring with 18 points while Jordan Gainey was no far behind with 16 points and Santiago Vescovi added 11 points.
Tennessee is one of six SEC teams in this week’s AP Poll. The Vols join No. 12 Texas A&M, No. 16 Kentucky, No. 17 Alabama, No. 20 Arkansas and No. 25 Mississippi State in the Nov. 20 AP Poll.

The Vols are just hours away from opening up Maui Invitational play against Syracuse. Tennessee is a part of one of the most loaded fields in early season tournament history. Five of the tournament’s eight teams rank in the top 11 including No. 1 Kansas and No. 2 Purdue.
After its tournament opener, Tennessee faces either Purdue or Gonzaga in its second game on Tuesday before facing one of Kansas, Marquette, UCLA and Chaminade on Wednesday.
Tennessee faces a hectic three-game in three-days schedule before returning to the continental United States where they’ll face No. 14 North Carolina in Chapel Hill next week.
