Josh Heupel’s Tennessee Volunteers landed at No. 14 in the Week 11 AP Top 25 Poll that was released on Sunday afternoon.

Tennessee rose five spots in this week’s rankings after dominating UConn in Knoxville on Saturday to the tune of a 59-3 victory. This is the third time that Tennessee has beaten their opponent by 56 points including a 56-0 win over Vanderbilt in 2022 and a 56-0 victory over Tennessee Tech in 2021.

Heupel’s Vols have now been ranked in 25 straight AP polls dating back to Week 2 of the 2022 season.

Tennessee cruised to victory over the UConn Huskies on Saturday as basketball icon Pat Summitt was honored throughout the game. The Vols did it through the air with touchdown passes of 82 yards and 60 yards, on the ground with touchdown runs of 82 yards and six yards, and on the defensive side of the ball with three – yes, three – defensive touchdowns for the first time in program history.

While Tennessee didn’t necessarily beat up a quality opponent as the Huskies move to 1-8 on the season, a 56-point win is indicative of a strong showing no matter how you look at it.

Tennessee lands as the fourth highest-ranked team from the SEC in the AP rankings from Sunday:

  • No. 1 Georgia
  • No. 8 Alabama
  • No. 10 Ole Miss
  • No. 14 Tennessee
  • No. 16 Missouri
  • No. 18 LSU

Receiving votes: Texas A&M 1

Saturday’s game against UConn was an important opportunity to come back home and reset after two straight road games before two incredibly challenging SEC East games coming up in the next two weeks. The Volunteers will head back out on the road this week for a matchup against Missouri and then return home to host Georgia the following week in Neyland Stadium.
