Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with the media on Thursday morning in Knoxville for his final media appearance of the week before the Vols host UConn this Saturday for Homecoming.
Heupel’s meeting with the media on Thursday was shorter than normal but hit a bigger range of topics. The third-year Tennessee coach did touch on the UConn game this Saturday but also talked about his family’s reaction to Josh Dobbs going to Minnesota, Pat Summitt’s legacy at the University of Tennessee and around the sports world, and much more.
“I think one of the most pointed things that I could remember in my short time here about Coach Summitt is the stories of the people that she impacted not associated with Tennessee women’s basketball,” Heupel said. “Everybody that has come into contact with her has a great story about how she impacted the people around her and enriched the lives of the people around her. She had a great impact on the court, but she had more impact off the court. It’s a really powerful legacy.”
No. 17 Tennessee will host UConn this Saturday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. ET in Neyland Stadium. SEC Network will have the broadcast for Saturday’s contest.
