Tennessee football’s homecoming matchup against Connecticut this Saturday at Neyland Stadium is officially a sell out.

It’s the 11th straight sell out at Neyland Stadium as Josh Heupel has built Tennessee’s football program back to national prominence. The sell out streak dates back to the 2022 Thursday night season opener against Ball State in front of 92,236 at Neyland Stadium.

The Vols’ matchup against UConn is the 2023 homecoming game and their final non conference matchup of the season. Tennessee is looking to extend its home winning streak to 13 games with the win.

Like they did last season on homecoming against UT Martin, Tennessee is planning on wearing “Summitt Blue” accessories in honor of legendary Lady Vols’ basketball coach Pat Summitt.

Wearing the “Summitt Blue” accessories on homecoming would be a cool tradition every year but is particularly worthwhile when Tennessee battles UConn. The Lady Vols and Huskies are the nation’s two most decorated women’s basketball programs and Summitt frequently battled with Geno Auriemma and UConn in her coaching career.

Tennessee enters the early November matchup 6-2 (3-2 SEC) after last week’s road win at Kentucky. After the UConn game, the Vols have two challenging SEC games against Missouri and Georgia before hosting Vanderbilt to close the regular season.

UConn is struggling in head coach Jim Mora’s second season and enter the matchup with a 1-7 record this season.

Kickoff at Neyland Stadium is at noon ET on Saturday. Dave Neal, Derek Mason and Alex Chappell are on the call for the SEC Network.
