The same six teams from the Southeastern Conference that were in last week’s AP Top 25 rankings are still in the Week 9 AP rankings, just with a few minor switches.
Six of the first nine weeks of the season have included six SEC teams in the rankings.
No. 1 Georgia remains in the top spot after an open date to rest and recover before The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party against Florida this upcoming weekend.
After six straight weeks of being on the outside of the AP Top 10 looking in, Alabama cracks the list at No. 9 following a massive comeback win over Tennessee on Saturday in Tuscaloosa. The Volunteers, meanwhile, are the only SEC team to slide down in the rankings as Tennessee lands at No. 21 heading into Kentucky week.
Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss took care of business on the road against Auburn this weekend with a 28-21 victory and moved up one spot to No. 12 in the rankings. LSU and Missouri both moved up four spots to No. 15 and No. 16, respectively, after the (LSU) Tigers’ 62-0 win over Army and the (Missouri) Tigers’ 34-12 win over South Carolina.
Florida received the most votes of any team not in the rankings with 34 while Kentucky received two votes.
