Tennessee wide receiver Squirrel White started the Third Saturday in October scoring with a wildly impressive touchdown catch on Tennessee’s opening drive of the game.

With Tennessee driving down the field on the Alabama 39-yard line, quarterback Joe Milton uncorked a deep ball from the left hash mark. White had the mismatch on Alabama linebacker Chris Braswell and beat him screaming down the left sideline. Milton put the ball high and away from the speedy receiver as White went horizontal to make the grab in the corner of the endzone.

The Vols needed a strong start to this rivalry game and Milton and White delivered just that.

Charles Campbell came on after to knock through the extra point and Tennessee was up 7-0 less than three minutes into the game.

Tennessee continued the strong start in the first quarter, dominating Alabama on the defensive side of the ball. The Vols forced Alabama to punt on their first two offensive possessions and forced a fumble from Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe on the third possession.

Tennessee was able to add two field goals to their first scoring scoring output to lead Alabama 13-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Squirrel White currently has seven receptions for 91 yards at the time of this publication (2Q, 11:10).
