It’s almost time for The Third Saturday in October once again.
Tennessee was able to snap a 15-year losing streak to Alabama last year in Knoxville but have a tough test in Tuscaloosa this weekend as the Crimson Tide look for revenge.
This won’t be the same game, though. Last year’s contest involved two premiere quarterbacks in Hendon Hooker and Bryce Young as both led their teams to 50 points in an absolute shootout under the lights of Neyland Stadium. The over/under for this 2023 game is set at a lower number than either team scored during last year’s game, to give some context on how different these teams are than in the past.
Here’s a look at everything you need to know for this Saturday’s game in Tuscaloosa between No. 11 Alabama and No. 17 Tennessee:

The Third Saturday in October is one of college football’s storied rivalries with the first meeting between the University of Tennessee and the University of Alabama dating all the way back to 1901 according to Winsipedia. More than 100 games have transpired involving the two programs with Alabama leading the series over Tennessee 59-39-7. Alabama won 15 straight games under Nick Saban until Josh Heupel’s second shot at the Tide led to a Tennessee win to snap the streak in 2022. Tennessee will now look to snap a road-losing streak to the Tide with back-to-back season wins.
