VFL Eric Berry brought the energy for Tennessee’s secondary on Saturday night as the Vols recorded two interceptions against Texas A&M during a night in which the Tennessee legend was honored ahead of his upcoming induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Prior to Tennessee’s SEC matchup on Saturday, Berry spoke to the team and gave words of wisdom to the young players.

“That was pretty cool, him coming to talk to us,” Tennessee linebacker Aaron Beasley said after the game. “Eric Berry, he was a real dude. Great player. I watched him growing up. His message [to us] was really just, we prepare our whole lives for moments like these and to never take it for granted.”

Fans were treated to the classic Eric Berry 4 Heisman videos during the first half before Berry’s official on-campus salute took place during halftime of the game. Neyland Stadium roared in applause as the Tennessee great was honored on the field.

After the game, Tennessee was lining up the players for the Tennessee Waltz to be played in front of the student section. As someone who was standing behind the group of players, Berry suddenly rushed past to join the Tennessee players. Berry planted himself in between two Tennessee freshmen – Vysen Lang and Daevin Hobbs – and participated in the song. Berry then turned his attention to the players, giving high fives all around before turning his attention to the Tennessee student section.
