Tennessee football ranks 17th in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll after its lone open date of the 2023 season. The Vols moved up one-spot in the Coaches Poll ahead of their SEC matchup against Texas A&M.
The Vols are one of seven SEC teams in this week’s Coaches Poll coming in behind No. 1 Georgia, No. 10 Alabama and No. 13 Ole Miss and ahead of No. 20 LSU, No. 23 Kentucky and No. 25 Missouri.
Tennessee moved up three spots in the AP Top 25 to No. 19 after the open date. The Vols are one of six teams in the AP Poll joining No. 1 Georgia, No. 11 Alabama, No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 22 LSU and No. 24 Kentucky.
Coming off its open date, Tennessee faces Texas A&M in a critical SEC matchup at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. Josh Heupel’s third Tennessee team enters the matchup 4-1 (1-1 SEC) and needing to add another conference win before a two-week road trip to Alabama and Kentucky.

Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies desperately need a win after falling to 4-2 (2-1 SEC) with a loss against Alabama Saturday afternoon in College Station. Fisher’s seat is heating up as the year progresses and the matchup at Tennessee is a challenge for both programs.
There is plenty of excitement around Tennessee’s matchup against Texas A&M. The Vols are checkering Neyland Stadium against Texas A&M and SEC Nation is coming to Knoxville for the SEC matchup.
Kickoff at Neyland Stadium is at 3:30 p.m. ET with CBS broadcasting the matchup.
