It’s the sixth Checker Neyland game in the stadium’s storied history. The Vols checkered Neyland Stadium in each of Josh Heupel’s first two seasons, losing to Ole Miss 31-26 in 2021 and defeating Florida 38-33 in 2022 in a rivalry victory that ended a five-game losing streak in the series.
Tennessee football is 2-3 in the five Checker Neyland games and are looking to even its record when it hosts Texas A&M at Neyland Stadium.

Tennessee enters the critical SEC matchup 4-1 (1-1 SEC) as they look to get healthy and continue to improve ahead of Saturday’s open date. The Vols are coming off their best win of the season when they knocked off South Carolina 41-20 at Neyland Stadium.
Texas A&M has made real improvements from last year’s disastrous season and is 4-1 (2-0 SEC) entering this week’s matchup against Alabama in College Station.
The matchup comes at a perfect time for Tennessee as the Vols are coming off their open date while the Aggies are coming off three straight SEC games including a challenging task against Alabama.
Kickoff at Neyland Stadium is at 3:30 p.m. ET. CBS is broadcasting the game as its SEC Game of the Week.
