No. 21 Tennessee defeated South Carolina by a score of 41-20 in Neyland Stadium on Saturday night.
Against the No. 3-ranked passing attack in the SEC, Tennessee’s defense set the tone early and did not allow quarterback Spencer Rattler to get comfortable in the pocket at any point in the game. The Vols held Rattler to just 169 passing yards with no touchdowns and one interception as Tennessee’s pass rush affected the Gamecocks’ gameplan early and often.
Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton finished the game with 239 passing yards while wide receiver Squirrel White caught all nine of his targets for a game-high 104 receiving yards. Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright was terrific once again with more than 120 yards and found the endzone for the first time this season during the first quarter.
After the game, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with the media to discuss his thoughts on the game. Tennessee also had QB Joe Milton, WR Squirrel White, RB Jaylen Wright, LB Elijah Herring, and EDGE James Pearce Jr. speak to the media as well.
