Tennessee cornerback Kamal Hadden came up with a major scoring play for the Vols late into the second quarter of Saturday night’s game against South Carolina.
With South Carolina down by seven points and looking to move the ball with less than a minute left until halftime, Rattler dropped back for a pass but was met by pressure from James Pearce Jr. from the outside. Rattler’s pass looking left sailed high and into the arms of Kamal Hadden, who sprinted his way into the endzone.
Hadden’s first-career interception extended Tennessee’s lead to 14 prior to halftime.

Hadden collected two tackles and one pass breakup to go along with his pick-six during the first half of play.
The Michigan native had a total of 12 tackles prior to the game against South Carolina on Saturday night in Knoxville.
Hadden’s pick-six was the ideal way to cap off the defensive effort that Tennessee posted in the first half of play. The Vols’ defense deserves a considerable amount of credit for the way they are playing quarterback Spencer Rattler – who only has 91 passing yards in the first half of play.
The Vols’ defense has limited South Carolina to just 166 total yards in the first half of play.
No. 21 Tennessee currently leads South Carolina 24-10 at halftime.
