Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with the media on Monday afternoon in Knoxville to discuss his final thoughts on the Vols’ contest against UTSA this past Saturday before flipping the page to this week’s SEC home-opener against South Carolina in Knoxville.

The Gamecocks will venture into Neyland Stadium to take on No. 21 Tennessee at 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.

During his press conference on Monday, Heupel hit a number of different topics including South Carolina’s special teams unit, Gamecocks’ quarterback Spencer Rattler, bouncing back from the Florida loss against UTSA, and the crowd’s importance this weekend in Knoxville.

Heupel also briefly provided an update on quarterback Joe Milton III after the quarterback took an awkward hit against the Roadrunners last weekend.

“For us, I know there’s a picture out there, for us routinely on Sunday we’re going to make sure our players are healthy,” Heupel said on Monday. “We have a diagnosis inside with our doctors. But we’re going to make sure medically they check in on him as well. Joe has been good, feels good. Is with us today so anticipate him being ready to go play really well.”

In addition to Josh Heupel, two Tennessee players also spent a few moments with the media: TE McCallan Castles and DL Bryson Eason.
