How about that for a quick start from the Tennessee offense?
After the Vols received the opening kickoff of the game, starting quarterback Joe Milton III trotted out onto the field alongside his offensive teammates. Lining up for the first play of the game, Milton faked a handoff to running back Jaylen Wright and took off down the left side. UTSA’s defense was slow to recognize the read and was late catching up with Milton.
While Milton’s run power is usually on display more than his speed, the veteran quarterback turned on the jets and motored down the left sideline 81 yards to the checkerboard endzones. The 81-yard run by Milton is the longest run by a quarterback in Tennessee program history, according to UT Athletics.
