Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III orchestrated the Vols’ offense for the first 12 drives of the game on Saturday and scored 45 points on the Roadrunners’ defense.

With the game essentially put away, Tennessee opted to take out Milton during the fourth quarter to give freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava some reps during the game. This is Iamaleava’s second appearance this season after finding a couple of drives late in the game during Tennessee’s season-opening win against Virginia in Nashville.

Iamaleava completed two of his three passes for 11 yards during the Vols’ 49-13 win against Virginia.

The former five-star recruit received a massive ovation from the Tennesee fans during both his appearance against Virginia and now back home in Knoxville.

Milton ended his day with 209 yards on 18-of-31 passing with three total touchdowns. The Vols took Milton out of the game with Tennessee leading UTSA 45-14.

  1. Nico needs to be our guy. Start this dude. I guarantee you it’s going to change Tennessee Football in a very positive way. Love Milton and his dedication but he’s not going to be able to handle these big games we must win.

  2. Running back room is the place to be
    Joe struggles.
    Nico is the future now.
