Four-star cornerback Blake Woodby released his official Top Five on Thursday evening with the Tennessee Volunteers making the cut.

Woodby’s list of five includes Tennessee, Alabama, Oregon, Clemson, and Ohio State. Woodby chose those five schools after receiving more than 20 offers on the recruiting trail so far.

Woodby, a cornerback from the class of 2025, is from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback lands as a four-star recruit from Rivals, 247 Sports, and ESPN while On3 Sports has Woodby ranked as a three-star prospect.

247’s composite rankings have Woodby listed as a four-star recruit, the No. 15 cornerback in the class, and the fourth-ranked player from the state of Maryland.

Woodby’s connection with Tennessee dates back almost a year now. Josh Heupel’s Tennessee Volunteers extended Woodby a scholarship offer on October 7, 2022, which was followed by an unofficial visit on October 22 for the Vols’ game against UT Martin in Neyland Stadium.

On Friday morning, Woodby used Twitter to announce that he is set to make his decision “next month” while tagging the hashtags for each program: #AllIn (Clemson), #ScoDucks (Oregon), #GoVols (Tennessee), #GoBucks (Ohio State), #RollTide (Alabama).

While speaking with On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett regarding his Top 5 announcement, Woodby shared positive thoughts on each of his five finalists.

“Tennessee is slept on I feel like in college football,” Woodby told Fawcett about the Vols. “I would love to put on orange and white and be the underdog and shock the world.”

The lone commitment in Tennessee’s class of 2025 so far is three-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux from Alpharetta, Georgia. In addition to Arnoux, though, Tennessee currently has four defensive backs committed to the class of 2024.

Four-star cornerback Blake Woodby’s Top 5, released on Thursday evening, includes Tennessee, Alabama, Oregon, Clemson, and Ohio State. Woodby announced on Friday morning that he plans to announce his official commitment sometime in October. Stay tuned to Rocky Top Insider for more on Tennessee recruiting throughout the fall.
