Four-star Tennessee basketball target Bishop Boswell is announcing his college commitment on Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. ET, 247sports Travis Branham first reported Tuesday.

Boswell, a four-star combo guard, is deciding between a top group which includes Georgia, Missouri, Tennessee, Wake Forest and Xavier.

The Charlotte native ranks as the nation’s No. 65 player and No. 10 combo guard in the 2024 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Myers Park High School native also ranks as the seventh best prospect in the state of North Carolina.

Boswell officially visited Tennessee earlier this month and the trip to Knoxville was the four-stars final trip before announcing his commitment.

The Charlotte native has visited each of his other four finalists including a pair of visits to Georgia and Wake Forest and June official visits to Missouri and Xavier.

Tennessee is looking to make Boswell its latest recruiting win in North Carolina. The Vols have had an abundance of success recruiting the Tar Heel State under head coach Rick Barnes and it’s only increased since the veteran head coach added High Point native and former North Carolina State point guard Justin Gainey to his staff after the 2020-21 season.

The Vols have signed Grant Williams, Jaden Springer, Jonas Aidoo and Freddie Dilione amongst others from North Carolina during Barnes’ tenure.

Tennessee is still looking for its first commit in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The Vols definitively lose seniors Josiah-Jordan James, Santiago Vescovi and Dalton Knecht off their roster next offseason while Freddie Dilione has NBA Draft potential and other players could transfer.

Of course, the Vols could add to their roster via the transfer portal next offseason as they have the past few cycles.
