Excitement is high for Josh Heupel’s third Tennessee team. The Vols have already previously announced sell outs at Neyland Stadium this season for matchups against UTSA, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Georgia.
Tennessee opened its seasonΒ in Nashville against Virginia where Vol fans packed Nissan Stadium for a football attendance record.

With the Austin Peay game officially a sell out, Tennessee’s matchups against UConn and Vanderbilt are the only two games that aren’t sold out.
Tennessee will cruise to a week two victory against its instate FCS foe. Austin Peay dropped its season opener to Southern Illinois a week ago while the Vols cruised to a five touchdown victory over Virginia.
“Defensively, [we] have to handle tempo,” Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said of Austin Peay earlier this week. “They will spread the football field. RPO game, we have to do a really good job on perimeter screens, defeat blocks and make tackles in space. Line of scrimmage will be everything for us.
“Offensively, [we are] going to have to have balance, be able to run the football and throw the football vertically down the field off of all that. Nothing different than who we are. Special teams have a chance to take another step this week.”
Kickoff between Tennessee and Austin Peay is at 5 p.m. ET Saturday. The SEC Network+ is streaming the matchup.
