Former Tennessee linebacker Juwan Mitchell landed at Colorado with Deion Sanders, a video showed from Colorado’s Friday practice.

Mitchell lands at Colorado after entering the transfer portal for the second time this offseason. The inside linebacker previously transferred to Arizona State but was kicked off the Sun Devils’ roster earlier this month.

Needing to find a team on short notice, Mitchell landed with one of the most intriguing programs in college football. Mitchell is one of 51 transfers Sanders has brought into his program this offseason.

It’s unclear whether Mitchell will be eligible to play this season after transferring for a second time this offseason.

Mitchell came to Tennessee from Texas with high expectations ahead of the 2021 season. The New Jersey native totaled eight tackles in four games during his junior season before missing the final two months of the season with an injury.

Returning to Tennessee for a second season, Mitchell totaled 43 tackles and an interception as a backup inside linebacker behind Jeremy Banks and Aaron Beasley.

The Vols lost Mitchell, Banks and Solon Page III from last season’s linebacker room meaning they have to replace three of their four top contributors at inside linebacker last season.

Inside linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary and defensive coordinator Tim Banks are pairing BYU transfer Keenan Pili with Beasley while underclassmen Arion Carter and Elijah Herring are also pushing for playing time.
