Tennessee is banking on four-star Jordan Ross getting after the passer once he arrives in Knoxville to believe his college career. But the Vols’ latest commit in the 2024 recruiting class showed he can make plays on the offensive side of the ball Thursday night.
The Vestavia Hills High School standout hauled in a five-yard touchdown in the Rebels 35-10 season opening win over Mountain Brook Thursday night.

Ross is Tennessee’s second highest rated commit in the 2024 recruiting cycle behind only five-star receiver Mike Matthews. Ross ranks as the No. 37 player and No. 4 edge rusher in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-4, 233-pound prospect is the second highest rated four-star in the country and the No. 5 player in Alabama according to the composite rankings.

The blue-chip recruit committed to Tennessee football earlier this week, picking the Vols over a top group that included Alabama, Florida and Texas.
Ross became the Vols’ 20th commit in the 2023 recruiting class and the fourth defensive line commit. The four-star is the first true LEO in the class.
