Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel’s personality was on display in the Vols’ latest Mic’d Up video from fall camp.

While he does like the occasional zinger here or there during a press conference, Heupel always comes across as buttoned up and professional during his appearances with the media. The video that Tennessee posted of Heupel on the practice field shows what the head coach is like around his players and during practice when the cameras aren’t always around.

The video from Tennessee Football shows Heupel’s journey through practice as he corrects and instructs different players and groups on the field. Heupel also cracks a joke or two along the way while encouraging his players before and during the workout.

“Really good day out there, great energy,” Heupel said after Tennessee’s scrimmage on Thursday. “We got some special teams work, some live work for those guys, which I think is really important at this point in training camp. I really liked what our specialists have done up until this point, but it was really good for the guys who are covering or blocking to get some live work. Offensively and defensively, really good day. I think we got out relatively clean today too, which is important.”

The video closes with Heupel’s post-practice message to his team.
