Blue-chip EDGE rusher Jordan Ross may be nearing his college commitment. The Vestavia Hills, Alabama native teased a commitment date Wednesday night, saying it’s “coming soon.”

Ross is one of the top pass rushers in the 2024 recruiting class. He ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 12 player in the country according to 247sports. The 247sports composite rankings peg Ross as a four-star recruit and the No. 36 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.
As the No. 36 player in the country according to the composite rankings, Ross is the second highest rated four-star, the fourth best EDGE rusher and the No. 5 player in the state of Alabama.

Ross released a top eight which included Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oregon, Southern Cal, Tennessee and Texas in the spring but his visits tell a simpler story.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound pass rusher has taken five visits to Tennessee, three visits to Georgia, Auburn and Alabama and two visits to Florida. Ross took four official visits in June, seeing Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and Texas.
Tennessee’s recruiting class currently contains 19 commits but is short on defensive linemen. The Vols have just three defensive linemen and Oklahoma native Kellen Lindstom is the only four-star.
The Vols’ 19 commit recruiting class currently ranks eighth nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
