Five-star 2024 defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri has officially announced his commitment date and top five schools, On3’s Chad Simmons reported on Thursday afternoon.

Nwaneri will choose between Tennessee, Oregon, Oklahoma, Missouri and Georgia on August 14 at 8 p.m. ET in his high school.

Nwaneri has been heavily recruited by Tennessee for well over a year but Rodney Garner has been making real progress over the last eight months.

Tennessee first got Nwaneri on campus in January for Junior Day. Since, the Lees Summit, Missouri, native has visited Rocky Top twice, once for an unofficial visit in April before taking his official in mid-June.

Currently, Oklahoma holds the crystal ball projection on 247 Sports, and the Sooners lead the others in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Nwaneri would be a massive land for Tennessee. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder is listed as the best defensive lineman and third overall best player in the 2024 class. Additionally, Nwaneri is listed as the top player from Missouri.

As for On3, Nwaneri is the number one player in the 2024 On300.

Of the 19 commits so far in Tennessee’s 2024 class, three are defensive lineman: three-star Jeremias Heard, three-star Carson Gentle and four-star Kellen Lindstrom.

Tennessee’s class currently ranks eighth nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
