The 2023-2024 Tennessee basketball team is soaking up their time in Italy before playing a few exhibition games in the next coming days.
The team embarked on a 10-day trip to Italy on July 31 for a final trip before the non-stop nature of the preseason officially starting in the coming months. The Vols will visit Lake Como, Florence, and Rome during their trip.
While there looks to be plenty of sight-seeing activities planned throughout the trip, Tennessee will gear up for three exhibition games over the course of the week. The Vols will take on the Lithuanian U21 National Team in Florence on back-to-back days (Aug. 4-5) before playing Italian club team A.S. Stella Azzura on Aug. 7.
Until then, though, the Vols are all over the Lake Como region to start the trip. From boat rides on the water to rooftop meals, and even Jonas Aidoo’s bond with the people of Italy, the Vols look to be filling up their time abroad. Here’s a look at what Tennessee has been up to overseas.
“There’s really random people taking pictures of me,” Aidoo said in the video while taking pictures with people on the street. “I think they must think I’m LeBron James or something… I tell you, they love me out here and I love them. I just love it so much.”
