Tennessee Makes Top Five For Blue Chip Running Back

Four-star running back Daniel Hill released his top five and announced an August 23 commitment date Friday afternoon. Tennessee joined Alabama, Mississippi State, Southern Cal and South Carolina in Hill’s top group.

Hill ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 193 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Meridian, Mississippi native ranks as the No. 14 athlete in the country and the No. 6 player in the state of Mississippi.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, South Carolina is the favorite to land Hill while Alabama is right behind them in the chase.

Hill’s visits tell a similar story. The blue chip recruit has taken six total visits to Alabama during his recruitment and three to South Carolina. The Meridian native has taken three visits to Tennessee as well but has yet to officially visit Knoxville.

The 6-foot-1, 220 pound running back has taken one visit to instate Mississippi State and no visits to Southern Cal.

Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class currently contains 15 commitments including from one running back— four-star Virginia native Peyton Lewis. The Vols finished runner up for four-star Braylen Russell Friday making Hill the remaining top prep running back on Tennessee’s recruiting board.

The Vols’ 15 commit class ranks 15th nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
