Tennessee baseball shortstop Austen Jaslove has entered the transfer portal after three seasons with the program, GoVols 247’s Ben McKee first reported on Wednesday and a Tennessee spokesperson later confirmed to RTI.

Jaslove redshirted his true freshman season and didn’t see any action in 2022, but the Knoxville native saw the field on multiple occasions in 2023.

Due to Maui Ahuna not being eligible to begin the season, Jaslove served as the Vols’ starting shortstop for the first eight games of the season. Jaslove logged four additional starts in 2023 with half of them coming in SEC play due to an Ahuna injury.

In total, Jaslove appeared in 24 games and had 37 at-bats. Jaslove hit .189 on the year with seven hits, eight RBI, two doubles, four walks and eight runs scored.

Jaslove’s departure from the program hurts Tennessee’s depth at shortstop, as rising sophomore Jake Kendro now seems to be the only returning option that could start in the six-hole.

The 21-year-old is now the 11th Vol to depart via the portal.
