While the class of 2024 is still in the thick of the race, the class of 2025 is also starting to make some noise on the recruiting trail.

Class of 2025 running back Justin Nkosi Baker released a Top 6 on July 4th that included Tennessee, Michigan, South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina State, and Ole Miss.

“Top 6! Big thanks to everyone who’s helped me get to this point,” Baker wrote in his tweet.

Baker ranks as a four-star prospect according to Rivals and a three-star back according to 247 Sports and On3 Sports. 247 Sports Composite rankings have Baker as the No. 336 player in the class, the No. 32 running back in 2025, and the No. 35 player from the state of Georgia.

The Buford, Georgia native had a busy spring with unofficial visits to Penn State, Georgia, and Tennessee.

While there’s still plenty of time available in Baker’s recruitment, the 5-foot-10, 170-pound running back looks to be linked to Michigan fairly heavily early on. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Wolverines with an 87.7 percent chance to land the talented prospect. Georgia and South Carolina sit behind Michigan with less than four percent each.

Justin Baker’s Top 6 comes on the heels of another talented prospect eying Tennessee from the 2025 class. On Monday afternoon, four-star 2025 linebacker DJ McClary released a Top 8 of Rutgers, Penn State, Southern Cal, South Carolina, Tennessee, Michigan, Oregon, and Ohio State. Additionally, Tennessee also made the Top 12 for in-state prospect Ethan Utley on Tuesday.

The Vols are looking to add to the one commitment in their 2025 class to this point. 2025 cornerback Shamar Arnoux, a four-star prospect from Alpharetta, Georgia, gave Tennessee its first commitment in that class back on April 7.

As far as the 2024 class goes, Tennessee boasts the No. 12 overall class and the No. 14 overall recruiting class according to 247 Sports and On3 Sports, respectively.
