Tennessee Football continues to stay hot on the recruiting trail to close down the month of June.
Class of 2024 wide receiver Braylon Staley committed to Tennessee on Friday afternoon to make for the Vols’ fourth pickup in the last two weeks. Staley committed to Tennessee over Clemson, Miami, North Carolina, and others.
Staley committed to Tennessee via Instagram Live and mentioned the culture and the coaches as two of the biggest reasons why he is heading to Rocky Top.
Staley, a native of Aiken, South Carolina, is a four-star prospect according to all four major publications in 247 Sports, Rivals, ESPN, and On3 Sports. 247 Composite has Staley as the No. 162 player in the country, the No. 24 receiver in the class, and the No. 3 player from the state of South Carolina.

Staley brings elements of speed and versatility to the Tennessee wide receiver room. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound receiver is also a multi-sport athlete on the Aiken High School track team, something that is seemingly becoming more and more common with the prospects that Tennessee targets on offense.
Staley combines his speed with a strong frame and the ability to highpoint the ball to make for a versatile piece in Tennessee’s offensive puzzle down the road.
“Lean, athletic build with a nice-sized catch radius that combines with consistent hands-catching acumen to expand the catch window,” 247 national scouting analyst Gabe Brooks wrote about Staley in June. “Big-play athleticism that shows in the vertical passing game and as a contested-catch weapon.”

Braylon Staley is the first true wide receiver in Tennessee’s 2024 class. While some of Tennessee’s commits like Boo Carter and Marcus Goree Jr. have been two-way players in high school, Staley is the first player classified as a wide receiver in Josh Heupel’s group.
Staley had a busy June as he used his four official visits throughout the month. The South Carolina native took an official to Clemson on June 2, an official to Miami on June 9, an official to Tennessee on June 16, and an official to North Carolina on June 23.
Perhaps a good omen for Staley’s eventual commitment to Tennessee, the Clemson visit took place the same weekend that the Tennessee baseball team was in town for the Clemson Regional. The Vols defeated the Tigers in extra innings during a wild game that Saturday night, June 3. Tennessee baseball did not lose a game the weekend Staley was also at Clemson.
Tennessee and Heupel have now added four talented commitments to the class of 2024 in the final two weeks of June. The Vols began the stretch with a commitment from in-state athlete Boo Carter on June 17 before landing commitments from linebacker Jordan Burns and offensive lineman Max Anderson that following week. Staley, Carter, and Anderson list as four-star prospects while Burns is just behind as a fringe four-star.
Tennessee now has 15 commits to the class of 2024 with Staley coming in as the 4th-highest according to 247. Staley is also Tennessee’s first commit in the class from the state of South Carolina.
