The Tennessee Lady Vols will host Notre Dame this November for the SEC/ACC Women’s Basketball Challenge.
Tennessee and Notre Dame will square off at 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, November 29. The game will be played in Thompson-Boling Arena.
The Wednesday evening matchup in Knoxville will feature two of the hottest teams in the country after strong finishes during the 2022-2023 season. Both Tennessee and Notre Dame reached the Sweet 16 round during last year’s NCAA Tournament and project to enter the next season as Top 25, likely even Top 15 teams in the country.
The 14-game SEC/ACC Challenge will take place over the span of Wednesday and Thursday of that week.
This will be the 31st matchup between Tennessee and Notre Dame on the court and the second matchup in the Kellie Harper coaching era at Tennessee. In her first year as Tennessee’s head coach, Harper and the Lady Vols took down Muffet McGraw’s Fighting Irish by a score of 74-63 for a statement win on the road.

Tennessee boasts a 22-8 record against Notre Dame in program history.
Six of the nine players that Tennessee is returning to the 2023-2024 roster started a game last season. That includes fifth-year senior Rickea Jackson, senior Tess Darby, and junior Jillian Hollingshead. The Lady Vols will also receive a boost with Tamari Key returning to the court after medical problems forced her to miss the entirety of the season after just the first nine games.
That Wednesday will be a big day for Tennessee Basketball as a whole. While the Lady Vols will be hosting Notre Dame at 5:00 p.m. ET in Knoxville, the men’s team will take on North Carolina in Chapel Hill at 7:15 p.m. ET that same night. All in all, the combined men’s and women’s SEC/ACC Challenge will last from Tuesday, Nov. 28 to Thursday, Nov. 30.
