Tennessee will look to hold off elimination from the College World Series against Stanford at 2 p.m. ET on Monday, June 19. Despite the loss to LSU in the opener, the Vols have to be hopeful that they can extend their season at least one more game ahead of their win-or-go-home contest today. The Tennessee vs. Stanford College World Series odds show the Vols as favorites to win today’s game.

Tennessee vs. Stanford College World Series Odds
Both offenses are coming off bad performances due to one of the best arms in the nation and the best overall staff in the nation living up to the hype. LSU pitcher Paul Skenes had 12 strikeouts through 7.2 innings before the Vols got to him. Wake Forest’s Rhett Lowder only made it by one batter into the fifth inning, but the variety of help he has behind him came in to lock down Stanford for the rest of the game to secure a 3-2 victory.
Here are the odds for Saturday on the top sportsbooks.
- Caesars Sportsbook: Tennessee -150 | Stanford +120
- DraftKings Sportsbook: Tennessee -150 | Stanford +120
- FanDuel Sportsbook: Tennessee -130 | Stanford +102
The Total varies at those sportsbooks, especially when it comes to the juice on the Over and Under.
- Caesars: 8.5 runs (Over +100 | Under -130)
- DraftKings: 9.5 runs (Over +110 | Under -140)
- FanDuel: 8.5 runs (Over -102 | Under -130)
Chase Dollander and Quinn Matthews are expected to get the start today, and the Vols are as big as -150 moneyline favorites. That’s most likely due to the relief arms available for Tennessee. Dollander’s stats aren’t as dominant as last year, but he is finding his rhythm and looking increasingly like the ace he appeared to be last year. In his last start against Southern Miss, he went eight innings and only allowed four runs — all of which were in one shaky inning.
He was completely locked in for the remainder of the outing and helped save arms for the next game. Matthews had 16 strikeouts, allowed three runs, and he went the distance against the Longhorns in his last start in the Super Regionals. It was a stellar performance, but it required him to throw 156 pitches. That isn’t going to do him any favors against Tennessee’s bats, who need all the leverage they can get.
If the Vols can get to him sooner than they did Skenes, Stanford doesn’t have any arms behind Matthews who can control the game. Due to the volume of pitches Matthews tossed in his last appearance and the number of pitches he would have to toss to go deep in today’s matchup, Tennessee’s odds are understandable.

Updated College World Series Odds
With one loss on their record to open up the World Series, the Vols’ odds took a significant drop on the top online sportsbooks. Here are where the odds stand as of now:
TEAM | FanDuel | Caesars | BetMGM |
---|---|---|---|
Wake Forest | -115 | +100 | -110 |
Florida | +160 | +170 | +170 |
LSU | +1000 | +800 | +900 |
Tennessee | +1200 | +1200 | +1600 |
TCU | +2500 | +2200 | +2200 |
Oral Roberts | +5000 | +5000 | +5000 |
So far, the best of the best have seemed beatable, although they haven’t dropped a game yet. Wake Forest won a close one against Stanford. Florida just held on to get by Oral Roberts in the opener, and LSU has yet to play a game without Skenes on the mound in the World Series.
Still, for the Vols to win the bracket, they would have to overcome the Demon Deacons and Tigers. Nothing is impossible in sports, but if it happened, there wouldn’t be many who saw it coming.
