Parker became the first woman to announce an NBA All-Star game broadcast this past February.
“I’m a fan, first and foremost, of the NBA and especially the All-Star Game,” Parker told Sports Illustrated’s Howard Beck in February. “And so I think the fan of the game, and the childhood Candace is—I have to pinch myself to believe that I’m doing it, and that I’m able to have a courtside seat to see the best players in the world.”
Candace Parker made an appearance in Knoxville this past February for the jersey retirement of Tennessee men’s basketball legend Chris Lofton. Parker, alongside Allan Houston, posed with Lofton and his banner during the ceremony at halftime of the Kentucky game.
